Our Strategy

We desire to see every person who calls Fellowship Church Southwest home to be doing what the Lord commanded us to do:
Jesus replied, “‘You must love the LORD your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is equally important:
‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ The entire law and all the demands of the prophets are based on these two commandments.”
Matthew 22:37-40
A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.”
John 13:34-35
The things that we do on Sunday, the small groups we provide throughout the week, and the various outreach and missions opportunities we provide are designed to help you not only experience those realities, but to learn to live them and in turn help teach others to live them. The really cool things happen in the overlap of the circles - the orange, green, and purple areas.
• Orange represents your home and family. This is the first, and most important, arena that you will live out loving one another. Our Family Ministries (Birth - 12th grade) are designed to help equip a parent to have meaningful spiritual dialog at home. The church plays a role in your child’s spiritual development, but YOU play the most important role and these ministries work hard to help you succeed in that.
• Green represents HOW we do what we do each Sunday in our efforts to partner with you to provide a place to bring your friends and family who may not currently have a church home or a good understanding of what they believe. We want to do what we can to provide environments where people feel at home and do things in a way that relates to our culture so that the truth of Scripture can be understood and applied.
• Purple represents what happens when your church community begins to overlap in meaningful ways with those you are building relationships and/or serving in some way. This can look like a small group serving together at the Capital Area Food Bank, or a group of men going on a mission trip together to serve orphans at Rio Bravo Children’s Home in Reynosa, or having a small group meeting that is strictly for the purpose of having an opportunity for friends and neighbors to “crash the party” and get to know be known by those you have community with.
“Go and make disciples… teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.”
Matthew 28:19-20
We take seriously this command that Jesus left us with. At FCSW, a disciple of Jesus Christ is growing in his/her understanding and application of:
• what a Christ-follower believes (doctrines),
• what a Christ-follower does (practices), and
• who a Christ-follower is (virtues).
As we grow in our understanding and application of these doctrines, practices, and virtues, we will grow in our capacity to love God, love one another, and love our neighbor.
