Fellowship Church Southwest

Land Updates

In February 2008, we embarked on the greatest spiritual and financial goal of our church’s history.  We did not shrink back, but took on the challenge and charged ahead. God has given us a pressing vision to build bridges into the family, community, and world. This piece of land will be our home base, our launching pad to see our vision exponentially grow.

Remember the story of Joshua possessing the land that God had given the children of Israel? In Joshua 1, the Israelites are camped along the east bank of the Jordan River at the very edge of the Promised Land, and Moses had recently died. Joshua was now the one God called to lead His people into the land that He provided for them. Look at God’s encouragement in verse 9, “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” And then they all obeyed and took possession of the land that God provided for them.

We’re so thankful that God has provided this land for us, our Promised Land… and we have taken it. Thank you for joining the leadership of this church in praying, planning and responding. We are taking responsibility for being a group of pioneers that equally sacrifices in the “here and now” so that this and future generations will be impacted for all of eternity. How fulfilling will it be for us to look back and know that our decision counted significantly for generations to come?

Summer 2009
Our building plans have been put on hold until further notice.

March 4, 2009
The first quarter of 2009 is in full swing and we’re moving ahead with pre-construction activities while we pray for God’s guidance about our first building.  The site plan has been finalized and will be available on the “Site Plans” tab soon.  Check out the “Donate to the Build to Bridge Campaign” page for the latest news on the land loan balance.  It’s exciting to watch it go down as we continue to faithfully give toward our commitments!

The trench across the front yard of the church office has been filled in, but we still have heavy equipment and LOTS of dirt at the entrance.  Herschell is doing his best to keep the “church office” signs standing up against the trees, but it’s hard work.  He’s got some tricks up his sleeve to keep the wind from winning this battle!  We were blessed with a donated artificial Christmas tree last week, so with the cold, wind, sleet and snow we’re feeling the holiday spirit.

The City of Buda has started working on the water line that will run through part of the church’s property.  If you drive past the offices, you’ll see the progress!  The city has taken our signs down (temporarily) and will need to cut down a few trees in order to dig the necessary trench.  Once the water line is up and running, we won’t have to rely on well water.  We can connect to the city’s water supply!

September 23, 2008
On Sunday, September 21st, over 300 people gathered at the new church property to see 19 people baptized into the body of Christ!  We celebrated with food, fun and the first-ever Fellowship Church baptism on Fellowship Church property.  If you weren’t able to join us, please stop by the office during the week between 8:30 am and 5:30 pm and take a tour of the new church offices.

We’re officially in Buda!  All of our “stuff” has been delivered so we’re up and running in our new offices.  The address is 3870 FM 967, Buda TX 78610.  Our new phone number is 512-312-2131.  This is a metro number so you don’t need to call long distance to reach us from Austin.  When you come by to check out the new office, you’ll notice the gravel driveway and parking area to one side of the office.  Please park there and avoid driving or parking on the front lawn.  Our septic system is located somewhere around there!  Soon we will have posts to mark off the area.
