Summer Women’s Bible Studies

Get plugged into one of these awesome studies today.
Beginning Tuesday evening July 6th... at Westoak Woods Baptist Church, 2900 Slaughter Lane, from 7-8:30 pm for Priscilla Schirer’s One in a Million. The Egyptians in Exodus 1 were intent on enslaving the Israelites, wearing them down so that God’s chosen people would become disillusioned and not live up to their destiny. Of the original two million Israelites who received God’s invitation to enter the Promised Land, only two actually entered it!

Similarly, modern day Christians often hear and understand the promises of God each Sunday morning at church but then rarely choose to experience them in everyday life. In One in a Million, Bible teacher Priscilla Shirer invites us to change that pattern for good, living beyond our circumstances and expecting to see God move in miraculous ways day after day. Without a doubt, we can find and follow God’s purpose for our journey. We can make it to the Promised Land! To register or get more info contact .

Beginning Tuesday evening June 29th... Kay Arthur’s Desiring God’s Own Heart from 7:00-8:30 pm. This invaluable study invites readers to discover the depths of God’s grace and explore His provisions for their every need. Believers will be encouraged to develop a deeper understanding of His heart. To register for this study or get more info, please contact

Discover God in our Spring Message Series, April 11-May 23
It’s been said that what comes into our minds when we think about God is the most important thing about us. Why? Because, whether we know it or not, what we think about God determines how we live our lives. What we believe about God shapes our morals, values, influences, attitudes, actions, and self-image. Most people have an opinion about God, some more impassioned than others. Some say he never existed, some claim that he’s dead, and some say it doesn’t really matter one way or the other. There are those who will tell you that God does exist, but he’s not all that interested or involved with the affairs of this world. Others see him as a meddling cosmic killjoy, the ultimate party crasher who’s out to spoil their fun. He often gets the blame for wars waged in his name, for natural disasters that he should have prevented, and for personal dreams that he didn’t deliver.

What do you think?

Make no mistake; the question of who God is matters greatly. And yet, how much can we really know about Him? Is he even really knowable? Has he revealed himself to us in a way that we can know who he really is? Come and see for yourself as we focus on the vital question, “Who are You, God?”

Discerning the Voice of God by Priscilla Shirer
Is that you, God? The Father so passionately loves you that He sent Jesus to die in your place. He desires a personal relationship in which He speaks directly to you. Have you spent most of your Christian life leaning on these beliefs without really experiencing them? Have you been in the presence of passionate believers who shared stirring encounters with God’s voice while your own soul overflowed with confusion? How did these saints know God as speaking?
No blessing surpasses a relationship with God in which you know where He is specifically calling to you. The more intimate your relationship with Him the clearer God’s voice becomes.
Discerning the Voice of God provides participants with practical help in knowing what you hear is from God. Through this study you will become more familiar with God’s Holy Spirit, His character language and tone of voice.

Our study is 7 weeks and will begin Tuesday, January 26 and run through Tuesday, March 9. We’ll be meeting at Westoak Woods Baptist Church from 9:30 - 11:30 a.m.

Opportunity to bless someone in need in our church family!
This time of year we think of those around us in need. Everything from the loss of a job to an unexpected illness can put a damper on an otherwise joyous time of year. This year at FCSW we are looking inside to see what needs God has placed among our own church family. If you or someone you know has need of anything from a gift for a child, food, clothing, or something else, please take a moment to fill out this online form and let us know. All nominations need to be submitted no later than Wednesday, December 9.

On December 13 we will make the various needs available via a small Christmas tree at the Missional Living Table, where you can pick out one or more needs to meet with the resources God has given you. If you wish to make a donation, please make checks payable to Fellowship Church Southwest and indicate “FCSW Giving Tree” on the check or online payment. All donations need to be delivered to the church office or brought to the Missional Living Table no later than December 20. If you have any questions, please email the .

While we may not be able to meet each and every need that comes in, we want to allow the church body to meet the needs that it can. Please take a moment and prayerfully consider who God might want to bless through this opportunity!
