Local
Mission Possible
Mission Possible connects the Body of Christ to serve urban communities and empower individuals through spiritual, social, and economic programs for the glory of God.  In the past we have helped MP on Tuesday nights as they served a meal and fellowshiped with the homeless community at 12th and Chicon.  They are currently restructuring some of their activities and we are waiting to see what’s next!

Communities in Schools
The mission of Communities In Schools is to champion the connection of needed community resources with schools to help young people successfully learn, stay in school and prepare for life.  Opportunities to serve include donation drives, classroom make-overs, mentoring, and beautification projects on campuses.  We are focusing our efforts with CIS on schools in Hays County.

South Austin Pregnancy Resource Center
The SAPRC’s mission is to change and save lives in Jesus’ name by sharing positive solutions to issues surrounding unplanned pregnancy. Their vision is to build meaningful relationships with women and families facing an unplanned pregnancy while providing for both their physical and spiritual needs. All of the services of the SAPRC are provided free of charge and include sonograms, pregnancy tests, counseling, diapers, baby clothing and formula, and other services. We will also openly share the Good News of Jesus Christ at every opportunity.  There are volunteer opportunities M-F during normal business hours.  This is an AWESEOME opportunity to come alongside those in need.

Capital Area Food Bank
The mission of the Capital Area Food Bank of Texas is to nourish hungry people and lead the community in ending hunger.  There are volunteer opportunities 6 days a week at the Food Bank for all ages.  Individuals, Families, or Small Groups can make a big difference by serving at the Food Bank.

MISSIONAL MINISTRIES LED BY PEOPLE AT FCSW
Packed for Life
Packed For Life believes in loving others as Jesus loves us. Unconditionally. Our prayer is to establish longlasting personal relationships along the way.  Working with Mission Possible PFL helps to provide needed “essentials” to people experiencing a season on the street.  There are many ways to serve with PFL.  Please email them to find out how.

Kids Outdoor Zone
KOZ is a youth hunting,  fishing and outdoor adventure ministry designed to teach boys Christian based values through cutting edge outdoor programs.  This ministry is especially geared for sons of single moms and is a great place for any man to plug in and make a difference in the life of a young boy.

Global
India

Africa
World Vision
With World Vision, we support and encourage sponsoring children in Limpopo. There are currently children in their Sponsorship program that do not have sponsors, and we would like to increase the number of children that our church body supports to try to fill out their program. We hope that when some of the political turmoil in Zimbabwe settles that we will have other opportunities to support the Limpopo area.

True Vineyard Ministries
True Vineyard Ministries has started a unique program in Rwanda that we feel is a great opportunity to care for widows, as we are called to do. Their Bake the Cycle program has chosen 10 widows who were identified by local church leaders as being the “least of these” in their communities. True Vineyards then built them houses, gave them job training and a job in a bakery, provided education for their children , and provided them Christian counseling to help them through the trauma they had faced in their lives. True Vineyard is truly meeting all the needs of these widows, and the program is designed to be self-sustaining by 2014 so more women’s lives can be changes through this amazing program.

Water to Thrive
We have chosen to work with Water To Thrive because of their desire to provide an expression of faith and compassion and heal some of the worlds pain and suffering through the basic gift of clean water. Water To Thrive is able to give their donors a 100% promise that all of their donated funds will go directly to build clean water sources in Ethiopia. Because of their commitment to faithful stewardship and compassionately caring for some of the world’s greatest suffering, we feel working alongside Water To Thrive gives us an opportunity to make a life changing difference in people’s lives.

Mexico
Rio Bravo Ministries
Rio Bravo Ministries is a faith based ministry located in Reynosa, Tamalupas Mexico, directly across the border from McAllen Texas.  At its conception, the RBM core belief was to become a “Bridge of Hope” that connected the local needy Mexican community with the wider network of resources of American Christians. FCSW is taking a Family Missions Trip this summer (2009) for the first time to work with Rio Bravo.  (JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address)for more information.
